Ten Years of Efforts Lead to Glorious Moment
Thinkplus Semiconductor was officially established in 2011. Under the leadership of General Manager Dong Guanbin, the total number of employees of Thinkplus Semiconductor has grown from two to nearly one hundred, and R&D centers have been set up in Shenzhen and Chengdu respectively; the product line has gradually expanded from only power bank ICs to a variety of products, including TWS earbuds management ICs, wireless charger ICs, battery charger ICs, protocol ICs and protection ICs; the number of customers has grown from zero to a large figure, including well-known manufacturers in China, such as Xiaomi, OPPO, OnePlus, Transsion, realme, Meizu, 1MORE, Baidu, NetEase, EDIFIER, JBL, Anker and Harman, etc.
The past decade was the golden era of rapid development of China's smartphone market. With its keen market insight and profound technology accumulation, Thinkplus Semiconductor successfully seized the opportunity for rapid development of the power bank market first. In 2016, Thinkplus Semiconductor ranked first in the 1A power bank SOC market in terms of shipment volume, ushering in the company's No.1 highlight moment.
Relying on the technology and market experience in the power bank industry, Thinkplus Semiconductor officially advanced to the TWS earbuds market. The branding, IC product definition, reliability requirements and specifications for the audio market by Thinkplus Semiconductor are similar to those of famous manufacturers in Europe and America, and even better in some details, so it has quickly won the trust of customers. In the past two years, Thinkplus Semiconductor has ranked first in the market share of TWS cradle SoCs with accumulated shipment volume of more than 700 million pieces and served hundreds of millions of customers globally.
Dong Guanbin, General Manager of Thinkplus Semiconductor said, "The reason why we have seized the development opportunities brought by power bank ICs and TWS earbuds is that we have relatively sharp market insight, and we can effectively solve the most concerned problems for customers, and can also sensitively capture the potential needs of customers and provide complete solutions. At the same time, this is also the inevitable result of our long-term development strategy and our focus on core competence building."
Forge Ahead and Create a Bright Future
The period from 2011 to 2021 is a golden decade for the rapid development of China's consumer electronics industry, and also a decade for the rapid rise of China's IC industry. The reason why Thinkplus Semiconductor can grow from small to large is inseparable from this background.
The past time has become a memory, and what we need to do is warmly embrace the future! Thinkplus Semiconductor will continue to adhere to the long-term development strategy, and on the basis of our battery management IC and power management IC technology architectures, continue to increase the product research and development efforts in the intelligent wearable device market, improve the core competitiveness through continuous technological innovation, and make sufficient preparations to enter new markets that may flourish in the future. At the same time, the company is planning more IC product R&D for industry, automotive electronics and other fields. It is expect to see more diversified product structures and more kinds of markets and customers in the future.
Regarding the future, Dong Guanbin, General Manager of Thinkplus Semiconductor, is very confident in his own judgment. He said, "We believe that people's dependence on mobile phones will decrease, and the construction of 5G or even 6G mobile communication technology will bring about a wider range of more innovative intelligent applications, but no matter how the range of applications changes, the use of power will not be changed, and the corresponding technology will never become obsolete. So let's go ahead and witness the next brilliant decade of Thinkplus Semiconductor and the booming development of China's IC industry!"
